A slot is a small space on a computer motherboard for an expansion card. There are different types of slots, including PCI, ISA, and AGP slots. Each type of slot has its own configuration and menu options.
A random number generator assigns each slot a unique combination of numbers. When the machine receives a signal (either from a button being pressed or the handle being pulled), the random number generator sets one of these combinations as the current outcome.
Some people like to develop betting strategies for slot games, and demo mode is a great way to practice these without risking any real money. Some people also use demo mode to learn about different slot game features, such as bonus rounds and scatter symbols.
Table slots can store any table of data, including curves (2-Dimensional), surfaces (3-Dimensional), and a single unrelated set of data (Scalar). All table slots are configured to lookup. For periodic slots, the column specification can be a text string matching a row or a zero-based column index, and the period, interval, and data interpolation options are configurable using the View, then Configure Periodic Slot dialog. To view a slot’s data, highlight cells in the slot. To undock a slot, drag it off the Slot Viewer to open it in its own Slot Dialog. The Slot Dialog has additional configuration and menu options. For example, if a slot has expression or Series Slot with Periodic Input enabled, a special icon appears in the column heading, which you can click to open the Slot dialog and edit the periodic values.
