Casinos can range from sprawling resorts to small card rooms. Some are built near hotels and are part of a larger complex that includes retail stores and restaurants, or they are located on cruise ships. Some are open to the public while others are for members only.<\/p>\n
Because of the large amounts of money handled, both patrons and staff may be tempted to cheat or steal, either in collusion or on their own. For this reason, most casinos have strict security measures. Elaborate surveillance systems provide a “eye-in-the-sky” view of the entire casino, and can be directed to focus on suspicious patrons by security personnel in a room filled with banks of monitors.
